Hi! I am Rachel
I have an infectiously genuine, strengths-based approach to interacting with others.
With a background in working in a medical setting and an interest in health and fitness, I believe in healing human beings, not just human bodies.
I believe slowing down to focus on the mind-body connection is an important aspect of well-rounded, holistic health. This has been central in my work with individuals with traumatic brain injuries and medical conditions as well as at-risk children, adolescents, and families.
I hold my Bachelor’s degree in biology, which provides me with a scientific understanding of the human body on the cellular level. I am completing a degree in clinical psychology, which provides me with a psychological understanding of the mind and spirit at the individual, couples, and family level. As a health and wellness coach, I bridge the gap between the field of medicine and the field of psychology in order to build on our understanding of the importance of the mind-body connection.
My superpower is finding potential in the hidden and overlooked places when you cannot see it in yourself and then empowering you to take back control of your life.
My biological and psychological background allows me to understand individuals spanning from a cellular level to a social and cultural level. We all have our own unique strengths and potentials at every level, and my goal in coaching is to help you see your potential. When you believe in your potential and align in with your purpose in life, you are able to take control and make positive changes toward the life you aspire to live.
Smiling at strangers. Following the rules. Treating others how I want to be treated. Not hitting the snooze button. Admitting when I am wrong.
Taking advantage of others to get ahead. Unnecessarily loud TV commercials. Being defeated by mistakes. Wearing makeup or doing my hair.
Making homemade meals and baked goods from scratch. Snowboarding. Planning meals for picnics and road trips. Lifting heavy weights at the gym.
I'm from a small town in Iowa, now living in Southern California. My deadlift PR is 210 pounds. I studied abroad for four months in Copenhagen, Denmark. I have two boxer dogs (Zoya and Bodhi) and our baby #1 debuted in July 2021!
